London, UK. 27th June 2016. Shelly Asquith, NUS, and Caroline Hill, Chair of Young Labourlead some chanting at the start of a rally to oppose a coup attempt by right-wing Labour MPs against Jeremy Corbyn as Labour leader, despite the huge mandate he has from the party as a whole. The rally, organised by Momentum, took place as Labour MPs held a PLP meeting where a motion for a Vote of No confidence in Corbyn was expected to be tabled, and on a day when the latest opinion poll shows Labour having caught up with the Tories. Corbyn himself was the final speaker, promising he will not resign and if MPs force a leadership election he will stand again. Peter Marshall/Alamy Live News
