Position—^Dorsal. Sterilization of Instruments and Cleansing Operators Hands—Same as castration of the stallion. (See page 24.) Operative Teclmiqiie—With animal cast a careful search shouldbe made in every conceivable direction and in every logical loca-tion for the testicles. If they can be felt then the operation isgreatly simplified. If they are concealed then the proper courseto pursue is to open the scrotum and proceed up the inguinal canalas you would in castrating a ridgling. When found the testiclesshould be brought out of scrotal incision provided the spermaticcords are not too short to permit it. If
