Mermet, on ac- count of its exquisite shape, large, solid, firm buds, with long, stiff stems, has long been considered one of the finest varieties ; its only defect has been that in dark, cloudy weather it comes a washy, dull color. Bridesmaid at all seasons is a clear, deli- cate pink, in all respects a counterpart of Mermet, with large, handsome pointed buds, on stiff stems.
