He has ac- complished this only by having an earlier strain of seed than his neighbors, which has been in his pos session for -a long lime and which he produced by re- peated crossing and very careful selec- tion. The color is a handsome red, skin smooth, quality tender and rich ; foliage small and short, rendering it well adapted for growing vnder glass and unsur- passed for sowing on warm bor- ders. This variety is entirely dis- tinct from all others and beet growers will find it a highly desir- able sort. We have purchased the entire stock of seed from Mr. Lower, and have the exclusive right to offer it to the public. The best sort for transplanting. An excellent market sort. Pkt. 5c., oz.
