Ursu lake at Sovata Mountain resort in Romania.

Ursu Lake (46,000 cubic meters) - is characterized by the heliothermal phenomenon, which consists in thermal stratification of the water and increasing salt concentration towards depth. Water temperature is small at the surface, being close to the atmospheric temperature, after which the temperature increases to about 3 meters deep, then lower and constant values are recorded. Thus, at the favorable depth for the human body, to 2 meters, during the summer, water temperature varies between 30 and 40 degrees Celsius. Ursu Lake is the only heliothermal lake in Europe.
