Leonard George Casley led Hutt River Province to secede from Australia on 21 April 1970 and claims to be the head of a sovereign state. He pays no taxes to the Commonwealth of Australia. Now known as the Principality of Hutt River the state can be visited. Visitors receive a visa upon arrival.
