Taylor(now of Missouri),he was convertedto Christianity;in August of thesame year he waslicensed to preachby the Baptistchurch in Hen-derson, and onemonth after thisentered George-town College,Kentucky, inwhich institutionhe graduated inthe year af-ter this he assumed charge, as pastor, of the East Baptist Church,Louisville, Ky., and continued three years. He then (in 1877)removed to Missouri, and was installed as pastor of the FirstBaptist Church of St. Joseph, where he is doing a most excellentwork in building up and developing the powers of the body overwhich he presides.
