Fairground operator’s are demanding to return to work prior to the 1st September. They think it is unfair that amusement parks can already open and they can’t. The Hague permitted between eight and a hundred fairground vehicles to park on the perimeter of the Malieveld. There were over 500 demonstrators and it was a good-natured affair. The official demonstration was scheduled for an 11:00 start but, was postponed -as the police had blocked the entrance to The Hague with riot police and police cars. Dutch Minister De Jonge, gave the fairground operators fresh hope this afternoon: He said the cabinet is sympathetic to proposals to allow fairgrounds to open earlier than the 1st September.
