The cut shows a verv impor- tant improvement that has lately been added, and that is the manner of securing the cylinder to the base by means of the adjustable ears and two bolts. The old style, with ears cast on the cylinder, is liable to be broken by screwing the cylinder down to its place, thus causing a total loss of the cylinder.
