CMS pixel detector. Researcher with part of the pixel detector for the CMS (Compact Muon Solenoid) detector at CERN (the European particle physics laboratory) near Geneva, Switzerland. The CMS sits around the large hadron collider (LHC), CERN's highest energy particle accelerator. The pixel detector is at the centre of the CMS. The main goal of the CMS experiment is the discovery of the Higgs boson, an elementary particle predicted by the Standard Model of particle physics.
