The range boiler heater isgenerally connected as shown ^^- ^^•in Fig. 85, that is the flow con-nection is made to the upper tapping of boiler just where thehouse supply is taken off, while the lower pipe is connected atthe bottom tapping of the boiler. Should the water be of sucha nature that there is danger of sediment choking the boiler orcoils the lower connection may be made to the side opening ofthe boiler. This, however, decreases the hot-water storage capac-ity by one-half, and a better plan is that where a sediment trapor other means of collecting the sediment before it passes into.
