EMPORIA, KANSAS - SEPTEMBER 20, 2022 Two City of Emporia Police vehicles are parked in front of the main entrance of Emporia High School. Students were dismissed from three buildings after a roughly three-hour lockdown Tuesday. Students began to exit the buildings on schedule following a level two lockdown, meaning students cannot leave their Police Captain Ray Mattas said the lockdowns followed reports of an Òunverified threat against studentsÓ at some point earlier Tuesday.
