It constituted the purpose for the establishment of the paper which was to reflect the thought and development of the Canadian lumber industryâdestined to oc- cupy the enviable position of the National Lumber Paper of Canada. That its existence has been justified is evidenced by the interest evinced by those connected with the lumber industry in each issue. The Canada Lumbermanâthe paper with the green coverâis to be found promin- ently displayed in the offices of lumbermen from the Atlantic to the Pacific. It is read thoroughly and each succeeding issue is eagerly awaited by our sub- scribers. It is the medium through which to keep in close touch with the activity of the lumber industry and its numerous branches. It is considered an authority on matters appertaining to the Canadian lumber industry. Times Have Changed When the Canada Lumberman was first published, advertising was in its infancy in Canada. Manu- facturers did not fully recognize the value of placing the merits of their product before the par- ticular field they wished to reach. If any adver- tiser had attempted to run a full page advertise- ment he might have been considered as on the road to bankruptcy. But times have changedâthe advertiser of 1880 who used card space is the full page advertiser of today. These manufacturers realize that advertis- ing
