Squirrels or birdshave been having quite a repast, butapparently, all is quiet now. Wesearch the branches in vain and areabout to decide that the red squirrelsare responsible for the cones whena cheeping sound at the far side ofthe grove attracts our attention. Wehasten to that side just in time to seea flock of a dozen or more darkSparrow-like birds hastily leavingthe higher branches. They swing to-gether into a compact flock, makinga clicking sound as they go, and areapparently bound for distant parts,when, suddenly, t
