The impetus of the new surroundings has wrought amagic effect, and the college has leaped forward with mightystrides. The income-bearing endowment of the twoinstitutions has reached $1,000,000, and the matriculatesnow number nearly five hundred. In the light of thesecircumstances prophets without number have arisen, whowith one accord proclaim that the time is not far distantwhen the institution will be hailed as the greatest in theentire Southland. The Conclave at Richmond will be ideal from the stand-point of location and fitness for entertainment. The cityis one of the most accessible points on the Atlantic Seaboardand can be reached by rail or water. Numerous trunk linestouch Richmond and arrival and departure can be madealmost any hour in the day. The city and surrounding country teem with places ofhistorical importance which can be visited with conveniencewhile travel through the state brings one in touch withpoints of interest which make the blood of the averageAmerican tingle with patriotism. A visit to the birthplace of Sigma Phi Epsilon at Rich-mond College is in itself sufficient to bring the brothers toRichmond and what the committee has in store for thecrowd is a plenty.
