The calyx or "hull" is turned back and it is this peculiarity that makes it such a favorite with the housewife who has to hull them. Four quarts of the Parker Earle can be hulled as easily as one quart of the Wilson. We have grown it with the highest culture at the rate of 13200 qts. to the acre and they sold for 10c. per quart.
