Heart surgery saline bag containing the anticoagulant drug heparin. The bag introduces saline into an artery through a cannula. The heparin is added to prevent clotting of blood within the cannula, and the bag is pressurised to counter the pressure of the arterial blood, allowing the transducer (not seen) on the cannula to measure the arterial blood pressure.
