Ruth Winkley, US marine biologist. Winkley was working as a clerk at the Marine Biological Laboratory (MBL), Woods Hole, Massachusetts, USA, in 1921. She went on to study invertebrate zoology, graduating from the University of Michigan in 1925. She is probably Ruth L. Winkley (born 1896), the daughter of scientist Henry W. Winkley.
