A lamp, burning on the tomb, is daily fed by the pious care of a icwpoor brethren of the Mohammedan priesthood, who also strew fresh-gathered flowers overthe unconscious dead—a custom prevalent in every part of Hiudoostan. Above thisstorey there is a second, a third, and a fourth, each forming a distinct range, risingdirectly over the tomb, and each containing a marble sarcophagus : the rooms in eachrange are small, and can only be entered from the marble verandahs of the of stairs lead from the entrances below to the first platform, the building beingsomewhat iw the form of a pyramid with the apex cut off.
