SUBIC, Philippines – June 29, 2014: More than 1,000 sailors from the US Navy and Philippine Navy are on the fifth day conducting naval drills and exercises in Luzon Sea dubbed as Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 2014. Philippine Navy frigates, BRP Gregorio Del Pilar (PF15) and BRP Ramon Alcaraz (PF16) are exercising in Luzon Sea with USS John S. McCain, USS Ashland and USNS Safeguard of the US Navy, conducting various formation maneuvers 39 nautical miles Southwest off Subic.
