Soonafterwards, Drs. David and William Baumcame, but stayed a short time only, whenthev both removed to the West. Dr. Christian Ludwig Schlemm lived andpracticed medicine in a house where nowstands the carriage works of R. Millersson. He began to practice his professionhere in 1818. In after years he moved toRichmond Township to a place which bearshis name, Schlemmville, where he died in1850. Later his son, br. Charles also took up the practice here. Dr. James Donagan was born in Phila-delphia in 1793. He studied medicine withDr. John C. Baum, of Exeter his graduation at the University ofPennsylvania, he located in Kutztown,where he practiced medicine for a numberof years in the house in which is locatedthe Kutzto
