Els Munts is one of the best preserved aristocratic villas in Roman Hispania. Located in an incomparable setting, close to the beach, the inhabitants of this country residence enjoyed the tranquility of rural life and the beauty of the surroundings, without neglecting luxury and refinement. A house destined for the leisure and recreation of the elites of Tarraco and that, surely, had a key role in their social, political and economic relations. Altafulla is a Spanish municipality and town in the province of Tarragona, in Catalonia. Nestled on the southeastern slope of a 52-meter-high mountain, next to the Mediterranean coast, it belongs to the Tarragonés region and is framed in the natural and historical region of Campo de Tarragona. Its municipal district limits to the north with La Nou de Gaya and Puebla de Montornés, to the east with Torredembarra and to the west with La Riera and Tarragona. To the south it has a beach that extends from Cap Gros to near the Roca del Gaià and a marina.
