Sri Lanka: Dudley Senanayake, Prime Minister of Ceylon, with Indira Gandhi, Prime Minister of India, c. 1968. Dudley Shelton Senanayake (1911-1973) was a Sinhalese Sri Lankan politician who became the second Prime Minister of Ceylon and went on to become prime minister on two more occasions during the 1950s and 1960s. Indira Priyadarshini Gandhi (19 November 1917—31 October 1984) was the Prime Minister of India for three consecutive terms from 1966 to 1977 and for a fourth term from 1980 until her assassination in 1984, totaling 15 years. She is India's only female Prime Minister so far.
