Palmyra, Homs Governorate, Syria - May 26th, 2009 : Ruins of the Temple of Bel. Its ruins were considered among the best preserved at Palmyra, until they were destroyed by ISIL in August 2015. The arched main entrance is still intact, as well as its exterior walls and fortified gate.
