Detroit residents protest eviction of woman from her home of 36 years
Detroit, Michigan - Members of the United Steelworkers and neighborhood residents picket the office of Metro Property Management to protest its attempt to evict Urealdene Henderson from the home she has lived in for 36 years. Henderson, a steelworker, got behind on her taxes in 2009 during the economic crisis. Metro Property Management has been buying up hundreds of houses in Detroit cheaply at tax foreclosure sales, and then refusing to work with the homes' occupants.
