Motor buses taking troops to the front, WW1


From the Great War published in 1915 photographer uncredited. London buses were used as a ferry service between reserve troop headquarters & the front line. Outward journey took reliefs & reinforcements & on the return journey bringing back men to the rest camps who had finished their spell in the trenches. Somewhere in the region of 900-1000 buses were redeployed from the capital to the war many drivers also went with them.
