Statue of Henry Clay on top of a column in the Lexington Cemetery in Kentucky


A 120-foot tall Corinthian column with a statue of Henry Clay. This marks the final resting place of “The Great Compromiser” in the Lexington, Kentucky cemetery. Henry Clay died on June 29, 1852 in Washington, and after a funeral in Washington his body was returned to Lexington, Kentucky for burial.
