As we go to pi-ess, the American As- sociation of Nurserymen is in annual convention at Milwaukee, Wis., the the meeting being called to order Wednesday, June 28, and continuing three days, with headquarters at the Hotel Wisconsin. A true spii-it of co- operation is manifest at this, the forty- first annual gathering of the members of this organization, with an attend- ance comparing favorably with any former gathering. With the adoption of the new constitution at the Detroit convention last year, the determination to place the association on the highest possible plane is manifest, both in the substantial increase in membership and the interest taken in the proceed- ings. The convention opened on schedule time Wednesday morning with an at- tendance of some Prayer was offered by Rev. Charles E. Odell, and Mayor Hoan welcomed the visitors. President Welch delivered his annual address and the reports of the secre- tary and treasurer were presented, the latter showing a balance of $8,000 in favor of the associa- tion.
