Rotterdam’ Gay Pride’ takes place each year in mid-September and is one of the last major prides to be housed in Europe. Participants in this year’s event: ‘PROUD TOGETHER’ march drew a large crowd of thousands. The 2021 event was intended to draw attention and to gain greater acceptance of the LGBTI community. The march was prompted by recent hate and violence incidents against the LGBTI+ community in Rotterdam, and other cities in the Netherlands.
