PRESS RELEASE FOR IMMEDIATE USE / Friday, 30 March 2018 Images from the ECO2VILLE media call will be available under this link from on Friday, 3o March: Edinburgh International Science Festival, powered by EDF Energy, marks its 30th edition this year as it opens tomorrow, Saturday, 31 March with a theme of Life, the Universe and Everything. Festival events include ECO2VILLE (31 March – 15 April, 10am – 5pm daily), a large-scale, interactive free outdoor exhibition on the Mound. Other Festival highlights include Jason Hackenhwerth’s largest ever balloon sculpture at the National Museum of Scotland, a bio-art exhibition Synthetica at Summerhall, special theatre commission Valentina’s Galaxy for 2-5 year olds and five floors of hands-on science fun for children at City Art Centre. /@EdSciFest The world’s first and still one of the largest science festivals in the world kicks of its 30th Festival tomorrow featuring over 270 events between 31 March and 15 April. This year’s programme highlights include: ECO2VILLE, an ambitious, large-scale exhibition featuring a low carbon village of the future embraces technological solutions to show us how to re-think the ways we travel, eat, power our homes, shop and spend our free time. The brand new Existence: Life and Beyond, is an interactive exhibition in National Museum of Scotland’s Grand Gallery featuring three creative commissions including Jason Hackenwerth, the world-renowned American artist whose massive balloon sculpture in 2013 wowed festival-goers.
