Nesting Collared Dove

A pair of Collared Doves (Streptopelia decaocto) decided the best place to start a family was near a family. They have built a nest amongst the foliage of a climbing rose just feet from the back door of a house in Maidstone, and appear not to be bothered by the daily comings and goings. The nest is surprisingly small consisting of only a few twigs and roots, hardly big enough to support the weight of the adult and the two eggs. It will certainly be overcrowded once the chicks hatch.
