Fig. 24 DESIGN NO. 5 In Fig. 24 is shown a chest whose design permits it to be used as awindow seat when covered with a cushion. Its appearance is very at-tractive as it has heavy, massive ends, giving it an air of solidity. Theends can be built up flush, as the drawing, Fig. 23, illustrates, or f strip is glued to the front edge of the top, making it appear to be asthick as the ends. The drawings illustrate copper plates on the front,but, if good work is accomplished, these may well be omitted. 1 ^ * tU> o ? r - i- jy -1 G [— -f- L 1 1^ 1 0 - £ ^>i 9i ! 1-1 < -4— Z ^ I L J -v^ (—»- 0 •-—1 1 r ^ ^ / :.^ JU ;Ji 2 n .—? 7 (Qi 3 O -- 1 1 -. 1 -| 1 i 1 c S 0-2 If ft 0 p. i 5 4 g 0 r 1 ^ 1111. 1 __L 11 <0 -1 2 1^ ^ -4^ 1 H^i Li 1 CEDAR CHEST DESIGNS 39
