In others, the spots of the dorsal linesbecome nearly obsolete ; also every alternate scale along the mesial line of the backbecomes paler than the surrounding scales, so that a vertebral chain of paler scales ispresent. In such forms the black innermost spots on the ventrals become finelongitudinal lines enclosing a broad dusky ashy space, prolonged to near the extremityof the tail, finely punctulated with minute blackish spots. The head-markings remainintact. In others the general colour may be pale greyish olive above without black spotsfeebly indicated, but with a tendency to form a pale dorsal streak here and these forms the head-markings are practically obsolete, but a short narrow darkband is present behind the eye.
