Orchid flowers (Habenaria arevasia). The flowers, seen sprouting from a central stem, are not yet fully opened. The Habenaria orchids are found in damp grasslands worldwide, mostly in Asia, Africa and South America. They are terrestrial orchids (ones that grow in the ground). There are more than 30,000 species of orchids worldwide, many of which are grown as ornamental flowers.
