Like hisancestors, his father, and his brother, he delighted in music,and had a special talent for it, which was highly he became of age he took a thorough course in musi-cal studies in Normal music schools in Russellville. and inDecatur, Ohio, under the direction of Prof. Dwight H. He had a sweet voice,was a fine singer, and to some extent a composer of services were eagerly sought at musical institutes, con-ventions, and as an instructor in Normal music classes, inwhich he was very successful. After his marriage, in located upon a farm which his father had purchased, andwhich he afterwards possessed, l>ing on the direct road fromWinchester to Youngsville, about one and a half miles fromthe latter place, and the same distance from the Alt.
