Business is improving slowly with nearly enough stock of good grade to meet all demands. Roses are fine. Carnations are still somewhat short of stem. Chrysanthemums are plentiful. Violets are extra fine tor so early in the season. Bulb planting is about over with and nearly every florist is ready for winter business. FLORISTS' CLUB MEETS. The Tri-City Florists' Club met with Ludwig Stapp of South Rock Island, 111., recently, and a large number of members were present, A special at- traction was billed for the evening. A representative of the Universal Ce- ment Co. gave an illustrated lecture on cement or concrete as used in and about greenhouses. The talk was very instructive, and no doubt a number of the members will take advantage of what was learned during the lec- ture.
