An interesting record has also been kept of the type of positions heldby the husbands of the women coming to the hospital for treatment. While the value of the work of this department has been thoroughlydemonstrated during the past year there is still great room for expansionand development which cannot be accomplished without considerably en-larging the present staff of workers who are at present being seriouslyoverworked. This would permit the further improvement of the postpartem work and the development of the Pediatric work which presents avaluable field for usefulness which up to this time the Social Service De-partment has been unable to touch.
