Members are asked to keep such records of cost, gain, as are required for general club work by the State Club Leadei of the state wherein they reside. The age requirements of the calves are also governed by the rules of the state department; some clubs will favor calves, while others may want yearlings or bred heifers. Still others may want members to carry the project over a number of years—starting with calves and wind- ing up the work when animals have passed the two-year mark.
