Saint Martin of Tours exorcises a man ‘vexed by a devil’ (demone vexatum) as a winged demon with clawed feet hovers above the man’s head. Scene from ‘Storie di San Martino’, a series of 13th century Romanesque reliefs on the façade of the Duomo di San Martino, Lucca, Tuscany, Italy. The reliefs may be the work of Lombard master sculptor Guido or Guidetto di Bonagiunta Bigarelli, known as Guido da Como (1220 - c. 1257), who built the upper façade of the cathedral.
