Scottish missionary and explorer in Africa. David Livingstone is being taken into a hut at Ujiji on the night that he died.

David Livingstone (1813-1873) was a Scottish missionary and explorer in Africa. He discovered Victoria Falls in 1855. When there was no news from him for some time, British explorer Henry Morton Stanley was sent to find him. He did in October 1871, at the small village of Ujiji in Tanzania, near Lake Tanganyika. This image, from Livingstone's work titled "Last Journal," shows Livingstone being taken into a hut at Ujiji on the night that he died.
