Interior of Sienna Cathedral, [Italy] - the octagon pulpit of white marble, 1860. The pulpit, '...supported by a circle of eight columns, with one in the centre, and four of which rest on lions playing with their cubs, is a remarkable work of Nicolo da Pisa, aided by his sons Giovanni and Arnolfo; it bears the date 1226: ' The Last Judgment' represented in two of its bas-reliefs, is perhaps one of the finest productions of the illustrious artist'. From "Illustrated London News", 1860.
