In May, 1918, he was orderedto report to the I 68th Infantry, and servedwith that regiment throughout its manycampaigns. He v/as promoted to a firstlieutenancy on August 29, 1918. Lieu-teant Doocy was awarded the Distin-guished Service Cross for bravery. Hisdeath occurred at the beginning of theSt. Mihiel drive.
