Standing stones, Wales. This structure, which was once a neolithic burial chamber, consists of large upright stones (megaliths) supporting a massive capstone. The stones were originally part of a tomb encased in a man-made hill that is no longer present. The capstone is 5 metres long and weighs about 17 tonnes. These are the Pentre Ifan standing stones, on the northern edge of the Mynydd Preseli hills, in Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, Dyfed, Wales.
