Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy. The Karst Plateau by Trieste. Mount Hermada (Grmada in Slovenian) is a low hill on the boundary between Italy and Slovenia. In the course of the WWI, it was an inexpugnable bulwark of the Austro-Hungarian Army, that defended Trieste from its top. The electric power produced by the generators of the 'Cave of the Engine' was distributed all over the Austro-Hungarian military sites by means of raceways and hooks that held the cables.
