In my Entrance upon this Work, I amfenfible of what ill Confequence it may be,to lay the Strefs of a weighty Caufe uponweak or obfmre Arguments, which infteadof convincing Men, will rather harden andconfirm them in their Errors. And therefore-I cannot but think myfelfobliged in the management of this Argument,to ufe my utmoft caution and endeavour, thatIt be done with fo much ftrength and per-fpicuity, as may be fufficient to convince anyMan, who hath but an ordinary Capacityj^nd an honeft Mind 5 which are no other Qua-lifications than what are required to thelnfti-tution of Men, in all kind of Arts and Sci-ences whatfoever.
