Imperial Oak Tree & Historic 1905 Apartment building on Saarstrsse 1,Friedenau,Tempelhof-Schöneberg,Berlin. The imperial oak tree (Kaisereiche) is protected as a natural monument. It was planted by Gustav Schenk to honor the golden wedding anniversary of German Emperor Wilhelm I and his wife Augusta on March 22, 1879 It was also the Emperor’s 82nd was the publisher of the Royal Secret Oberhof book printing works and one of the first settlers in Friedenau. The tree came from the Dreilinden tree nursery of Prince Friedrich Karl. The original oak tree was replaced in November 1883 as it had been damaged in a protest against the Socialist laws. The place where the oak stands has also been known an der Kaisereiche since 1879. A brass commemorative plaque and a historic street sign were installed in 2004
