As a matter of convenience, and as a preventive of nuisance beingcommitted in places out of proper sanatorj^ control, public urinalsbecome a necessity in all urban districts. They are also required inhouses, manufactories, and other places, where projjer considerationand cleanliness is a matter of vital importance. A urinal, not properlyattended to, soon becomes a disgusting nuisance, as urine very rapidlyundergoes decomposition, and when in this state it has ofrapidly turning fresh uiine into the same state; hence the necessity ofthoroughly cleansing and washing every part of a ui-inal. As a manureurine is by far the most valuable part of town sewage. Compared withsolid faical discharges, the value of urine is as six to one; therefore,every eftbrt should be made to secure the urine i)roduced in a rural dis-trict for agricultural purposes.
