A view of Aoös lake , ioannina , northwestern Greece
The artificial lake of Aoös has been constructed at an altitude of 1350 meters, and there is a hydroelectric dam in place since 1987. It flows through the Vikos–Aoös National Park, where it forms towering canyons and then flows through the town of Konitsa, where it is joined by the Voidomatis river. The Aoös' source is in Greece, specifically in the Pindus mountains in Epirus,near the village of Vovousa. You can go round the lake either by car or by mountain bike (30 km in all), or you can fish in its waters and see the rich fauna and flora of the lake, as it has become a significant ecosystem.
