Looking north towards Dumyat in the Ochil Hills as mist clings to hill and land.
Dumyat sits at the western extremity of the Ochil Hills in central Scotland. Dumyat's two summits are Castle Law on the west, and Dumyat on the east. The remains of an ancient hill fort are still clearly discernible on the summit of Castle Law. The Ochil Hills are a range of hills in Scotland north of the Forth valley. The Ochil Hills are part of a Devonian lava extrusion. The range's appearance today is largely due to the Ochil Fault which results in the southern face of the hills forming an escarpment. The villages of Menstrie and Blairlogie sit at the foot of Dumyat.
