Drop, Lombard, etc. It is not exempt Irom the attacks of the "Little Turk,'" any more than other varieties of the Eu- ropean Plum, but for some reason the wound is soon outgrown, the plums de- velop fair and perfect and no harm is done. The tree is a remarkable grower,, with leathery, large, rich dark foliage. The fruit is large, yellowish green with marbiings of a deeper green and a deli- cate white bloom; flesh pale yellow, ex- ceedingly firm, of sugary sweetness, ju cH REDUCED. though f prightly and of great richness, parting readily from the small stone. When canned, it presents not only a most at- tractive appearance but the quality is simply superb. July. $ ^ Washington.âVery large, yellowish green; juicy, sweet, good; rots badly. August. Hungarian Prune.âMedium size, elongated, dark purplish black, with a thick blue bloom; flesh greenish yellow, juicy, sugary, rich, separates freely from the stone. Tree a vigorous, spreading grower. August. $ German Prune.âA large, long, oval variety, much esteemed for dryiflg; color dark purple, of very agreeable flavor. August. Coe's Golden Drop.âLarge and handsome; light yellow; firm, rich, sweet; adheres to the stone: one of the best late plums.
